Mental Health and Acupuncture
Acupuncture for Emotional Balance
Acupuncture is a fantastic tool in the mental health toolkit. Not all who suffer stress have a mood disorder or mental illness. Life can provide significant amounts of emotional extremes all on its own. Acupuncture treatments can help alleviate day to day stress and improve/maintain overall health and wellbeing.

Acupuncture for Anxiety
Those coping with anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) benefit greatly from the soothing and stress-combatting capabilities of acupuncture. Astoundingly, a study in 2015 found that acupuncture improved symptoms in anxiety patients that did not previously respond to either psychotherapy or medication.
Acupuncture for Depression
While Acupuncture has been used to treat depression for thousands of years, it is only in recent years that western medicine has started to take notice of the benefits of Acupuncture in the treatment of those with depression. The flow of energy through the body is directed by the brain, but also through the entire nervous system. When energy becomes blocked in the body, it can cause or intensify depression. Acupuncture can improve the flow of this energy throughout the body, resulting in improved mood.
